Stockbridge Green Panel Sorts Power Mailing List
Other Committee · Meeting of August 12, 2026
Stockbridge's Green Communities Committee races to fix a power-mailing list before an Aug. 24 deadline. Consultant representatives Mark and Denise told the panel National Grid's new residential rate runs about 17.2 cents per kilowatt-hour, versus Stockbridge's roughly 16-cent aggregation rate, with a 100 percent renewable option at about 17.6 cents. The post office won't release PO box data without a subpoena, after roughly 400 mailed notices bounced back last year; member Steve volunteered to work the trimmed, 138-name list.
The committee also confirmed a roughly $1 million solar array grant application is in, with permitting to follow at the Conservation Commission, and moved its November meeting to the 4th to dodge the Veterans Day holiday. "This is all about choice," one consultant representative said of the opt-in, opt-out program.
