Peru Town Board Approves $418,581 Bridge Contract and Culvert Lining for Road Projects

Peru Town Board approves more than $490,000 in road and wastewater infrastructure contracts at its June 22 meeting. The board unanimously authorized a $418,581 agreement with CMC to install an Enki prefabricated bridge system on Westcott Road, replacing a deteriorating culvert bridge on a time-and-material construction sequence designed to keep a lane open throughout the project, and a $52,851.50 contract with Precision Group for UV cured-in-place pipe lining of two 30-inch culverts on Laffin Mills Road, with costs expected to be substantially offset by CHIPS program funds. Three change directives for wastewater treatment plant project 5508 were also approved, including an $8,828 mechanical change by K&L Plumbing and Heating and time-and-material electrical and general-construction directives for Triangle Electrical Systems and Remain Building Contractors respectively.

The board also transferred $23,235.10 from its debt service account to cover interim invoices for the H34 water filtration project, pending grant reimbursement, and hired Brad Barber as a part-time seasonal laborer at $18.29 per hour. Late in the meeting, Town Attorney Matt Vavro was asked to prepare a written proposal for the former sellers of a 110-acre town-owned parcel, seeking to relax deed restrictions that currently bar e-bikes, bridges, and structures the board wants to install for community recreation.
