Williamstown Planning Board endorses Bee Hill Road land swap, digs into subdivision rule rewrite. Chair Ken Kuttner and members Cory Campbell, Roger Lawrence, Samantha Page and Erik Reardon voted 5-0 by roll call to endorse an Approval Not Required plan adding roughly 0.408 acres to 93 Bee Hill Road, a transfer surveyor Brian Casella said took two years due to Massachusetts Land Court delays, not town review. The board then spent most of the meeting reviewing a consultant-drafted rewrite of subdivision regulations, debating street cross-sections, Cape Cod berm curbing and sidewalk requirements.
Lawrence warned a proposed drainage swale slope "would creep." Campbell said of sidewalks, "I'm really conflicted on this because I love sidewalks," pushing for stronger requirements. The board set a four-year infrastructure completion deadline, invoking the Sweet Farm subdivision's 20-year sellout after the 2008 crash, and is targeting a public hearing for November.
