Lee board continues hotel hearing to Oct. 19
Planning Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026
Lee Planning Board continues hotel hearing after developer trims plan to three stories. Attorney Jeff Lynch told the board the proposed 69-room hotel, down from 74 rooms and four stories, would eliminate its planned pool and top out at 40 feet 3 inches, with 104 parking spaces serving the site and an adjacent 10-unit building. Abutter Sam Patel said he had collected close to 140 signatures opposing the project, while board member Peter said the redesign "whispers New England and talks, says airport a little louder." Estimated construction costs run $15 million to $20 million, though one resident put the real figure closer to $25 million.
The board also voted to recommend a clean energy zoning bylaw, covering new battery storage rules, for passage at Special Town Meeting. The hotel hearing resumes October 19 at 6:05 p.m.
