Water · Meeting of October 6, 2026

STOCKBRIDGE — The Stockbridge Water and Sewer Committee discussed a $66,000 parts order to rebuild an aging wastewater clarifier and flagged concerns about a proposed firehouse site next to the treatment plant. Committee member Peter said the preferred firehouse site, in front of the plant, could "close the door" on future sewer and water expansion, asking whether the town would be "kicking ourselves" in five or ten years. Plant staffer Tony reported the facility is designed for 460,000 gallons per day and currently averages 113,000 gallons daily, with the Interlaken Road subdivision project expected to add up to 45,000 gallons per day at peak.

The committee agreed to loop in engineering consultant Dave Prickett on the firehouse site's infrastructure constraints before soil testing begins. Members also approved September 8 minutes and continued an Interlaken Road sewer-extension update to next month's agenda.
