Water Board OKs Minutes, Advances Sewer Studies
Water · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Stockbridge Water and Sewer Committee advances two sewer studies, praises staffer for four-day valve repair. The board approved its July 7 minutes and heard that soil, likely rock, borings for the Averick and Lake Drive sewer study could begin after Columbus Day, with member Ted cautioning a start "could even be in the end of November." A draft Maple Street drainage, water and sewer plan is complete but needs manhole and valve-location fixes before it can be stamped for construction. Mike Canales confirmed a signed contract for a new DPW loading dock, built off-site for delivery.
The most detailed report covered a seized six-inch valve on the plant's 2005-era Clarifier 3, freed after a three-to-four-day confined-space repair; Tony publicly credited assistant Mark Viola, saying "without him on that, I wouldn't have been able to do it." The meeting closed with a unanimous vote to adjourn.
