Stockbridge Planning Board Elects Officers, Approves East Street Lot Division

STOCKBRIDGE — June 2, 2026 — Stockbridge Planning Board approves lot division, conditionally OKs coffee shop sign, and reorganizes leadership. The board voted unanimously at its June 2 hybrid meeting to endorse a Form A lot division at 11A East Street, presented by surveyor Patrick McCulkin on behalf of owner Vincent Cavillow, who intends to convey a new parcel to his nephew, Bryce Whalen. A sign application for a coffee and tea shop relocating to 10 Elm Street — submitted by Noah Keith — was approved conditionally after members found the proposed 25-by-25-inch sign exceeded the town's four-square-foot maximum by roughly one inch per side; the board required the final sign not exceed four square feet, citing, for example, a 24-by-24-inch dimension. In its annual post-election reorganization, the board re-elected Kate as chair, elevated Peter to vice chair, re-elected Wayne as clerk, re-appointed Liz to the Community Preservation Committee, and named Kate as the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission representative. The board also received a briefing on new state energy-siting regulations, which carry an October 1 town-compliance deadline; Kate reported that a Department of Energy Resources official acknowledged the state had not given towns sufficient preparation time.
