Select Board approves two liquor licenses for cider events

Williamstown Select Board approves two one-day liquor licenses for a local cidery in a four-minute Zoom meeting. Chair Peter Beck, Vice Chair Matthew Neely and member Stephanie Boyd voted 3-0 to grant the Berkshire Cider Project licenses for an August 14 concert by Five Pound Horse at the Williamstown Historical Museum and an August 29 performance of Sasha Velour's Travesty at the 62 Center. A cidery representative identified only as Kat told the board staff are "tips trained" and would buy beer "through the distributor" while serving house-made cider.

She cited prior bar service at Cricket Creek Farm's annual picnic and a December Krampus event as precedent, noting the cidery had not previously served alcohol at the Historical Museum itself. The board then voted 3-0 to adjourn, with Secretary Shana Dixon and member Nate Budington absent from the roll call.
