Monterey's priciest recorded sale this period hits $2.2 million on Mount Hunger Road

MONTEREY -- Monterey recorded 10 property transfers at the Southern Berkshire Registry of Deeds between Sept. 4 and Oct. 3, led by a $2,222,500 sale on Mount Hunger Road. Only four of the 10 transactions carry a recorded sale price so far; the rest are expected to post within the registry's typical lag of about a week.

Among the four sales with a recorded price, figures ranged from $250,000 to $2,222,500, with a median of $506,250. With six of the 10 recorded deeds still showing no price, it is too early to characterize the full month's price trend; the raw count of 10 transfers indicates a period of ordinary, steady activity rather than a lull.

TOP SALES

The month's highest recorded sale was 169 Mount Hunger Road, which sold for $2,222,500 on Sept. 10. The sellers were Kerry Malawista and Alan Heilbron; the buyer was Lisa L. Walker. A second property on 4 Sylvan Road sold for $675,000 on Sept. 16, with sellers Shannon A. and Philip D. Castille conveying to MTA Planning LLC. At 42 Sandisfield Road, Russell S. Seehafer and Diana J. Kuan sold to Pittsfield Cooperative Bank for $337,500 on Oct. 2. The lowest recorded sale was 36 North East Cove, which sold for $250,000 on Sept. 8, with Robin F. Williams as seller and Lee Bank as buyer.

Mount Hunger Road also appears twice in the registry's data: the $2,222,500 sale recorded Sept. 10 under "169 Mount Hunger Rd," and a separate instrument recorded Sept. 11 under "169 Mt Hunger Rd" involving the same sellers, Malawista and Heilbron, with no buyer or price listed.
