Lee School Committee clears $1.1 million combined in warrants, sheds state compliance flag. Superintendent Richard told the committee districtwide enrollment held at 631 students as of May 1, with chronic absenteeism down at both schools. The board unanimously approved $334,607.48 in accounts payable and $751,630.87 in payroll warrants.
The special education director reported the district is "no longer in need of assistance" under state oversight after last year's testing cycle, a designation Lee had carried for several years. Kindergarten registration stands at 38 packets, with nine of 10 school choice seats filled; officials said hitting 40 could require a third section. Lee Middle and High School reported an 81 percent advanced-course completion rate among juniors and seniors, against 69 percent statewide.
