Stockbridge's Conservation Commission continued a hearing on a disputed agri-hood expansion and pressed MassDOT over a multi-town culvert permit. The commission pushed back on plans for 3537 Interlaken Road Realty Trust after learning the project's agricultural component had grown from a permitted 17 acres to roughly 29 acres, with homes rising from 23 to 28 under the original special permit language. Committee member Shelby said the change "doesn't seem fair to residents," while counsel Jonathan Silverstein said the team had briefed the town administrator in advance.
Separately, Wright-Pierce engineer Billie Lee presented a five-year bundled wetlands permit for MassDOT covering 180 culverts across seven towns, including 27 in Stockbridge, which Lee said "is not in any way, shape or form blanket coverage for MassDOT." Members objected to a four-day notification window, noting the commission meets only every two weeks. Both hearings were continued unanimously to October 27.
