Other Committee · Meeting of October 9, 2026

STOCKBRIDGE — The Stockbridge Cemetery Commission voted unanimously to approve $44,450 in masonry repairs on the cemetery vault's south, east and north walls. Procurement officer Michael Canales told members two bids were evaluated after a mandatory site visit revealed the project exceeded available funding, with contractor Diversified winning the work. The commission covered the gap between $39,375 in Community Preservation Committee funds and the $44,450 total by pulling $5,075 from its $10,000 annual discretionary fund, leaving $4,785 for the rest of the fiscal year.

Members also discussed a structural load question raised by absent member Chris Marston, which consultant Preservation Inc. resolved by noting "the only load on those walls is from the roof." Canales recommended the commission seek additional Community Preservation Committee funds, plus a 15 percent contingency, to eventually repair a fourth wall.
