Stockbridge Select Board Appoints Shawna Roach as Town Treasurer and Tax Collector
Select Board · Meeting of June 18, 2026
Stockbridge Select Board unanimously appoints new treasurer, accepts two conservation grants. The board voted 3-0 Thursday to hire Shawna Roach as town treasurer and tax collector, citing her 12 years of experience in similar offices and familiarity with the town's SoftRite financial platform. To cover a two-to-four-week staffing gap before Roach starts, the board approved a transition plan under which Town Accountant Erica will absorb ledger and check-cutting duties, Town Clerk Tammy will manage deposits, and Select Board member Georgia Marsden will review and sign warrants on Fridays to preserve the town's three-party warrant-check system.
The plan includes a $4,500 cash audit by Adelson and Company. The board also unanimously approved a conservation restriction on Enfarm Road and Sherry Hill Road property linked to the state's MVP program and the Stockbridge-Munsee community, to be signed by June 30 if the state so directs, and accepted a $30,000 Nature Conservancy grant for permit engineering and construction drawings on the Rattlesnake Mountain Road culvert replacement — a project that, to date, has drawn no town funds.
