Select Board fills accountant, finance and zoning vacancies
Select Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Lanesborough Select Board appoints new town accountant, fills two board seats amid Bailey Road speeding complaints. The board unanimously appointed Angela Garrity, Richmond's outgoing town accountant and clerk, as Lanesborough's town accountant and assistant town clerk starting October 1, and separately appointed Al Terranova to the Finance Committee and Gwen Miller to the Zoning Board of Appeals. The board also endorsed a Berkshire Regional Planning Commission grant application for an $11,000 stormwater project near Pontoosuc Lake and approved warrants totaling $267,250.29.
Bailey Road residents, citing years of unresolved complaints, described drivers "over 60 miles an hour" and persistent nip-bottle litter; the Police Chief agreed to run a weeklong radar study in each of the road's four posted zones, which still derive from a 1975 speed regulation. "Again, I direct the officers to concentrate in that area," the chief told residents.
