Lee Select Board sets Aug. 4 deadline for cannabis odor fix

Select Board · Meeting of July 7, 2026

Lee Select Board presses cannabis grower on years-long odor complaints. Attorney Phil Soberman told the board Green Theory Cultivation has installed charcoal filtration units in every grow room, with 16 to 20 more on order, and roof repairs beginning the next morning to plug leaks blamed for the smell. Board member Sean said the fixes "took far too long" and demanded specifics on equipment vendors and the company's still-interim CEO.

The board ordered Green Theory back August 4 for a progress check, with full implementation expected by month's end. Separately, the board proclaimed July 10 "Chief Craig DeSantis Day," honoring the retiring chief's nearly three decades of service, and heard from resident Sinan Turan that the fire station siren, measured at 98 decibels, sounds up to 19 times a month.
