Lanesborough Finance Committee Unanimously Backs Terranova for Vacant Seat
Finance Committee · Meeting of August 11, 2026
Lanesborough Finance Committee recommends Al Terranova to fill its vacant fifth seat and names a Baker Hill Road District liaison. The four-member committee voted unanimously Tuesday to forward Terranova's name to the Select Board, which makes the final appointment; Terranova, a 10-year Finance Committee and 5-year School Committee veteran, said he intends to serve only through the next town election with "no intention of making a three-year commitment." Chair Lyndon Moore, re-elected unanimously to another term, disclosed he was recently sworn onto the Baker Hill Road District Prudential Committee, filling the seat vacated by John Gerlach, and the committee agreed by consensus to designate member Vera Farrell as its formal liaison to the Road District. The committee discussed a prospective buyer identified as Cyprus currently in a 90-day inspection period on the mall property, with a possible closing in early 2027 that could resolve more than $450,000 in outstanding Road District reimbursements to the town for police and public works costs not budgeted in FY27.
The committee's next meeting is Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
