Dalton Backs $5M Sinecon Factory Expansion
Select Board · Meeting of January 27, 2026
Dalton Select Board backs $5 million Sinecon factory expansion. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to recommend a tax increment financing agreement for Sinecon Inc.'s planned 35,000-square-foot addition to its Depot Street plant, a project company officials say will bring about 20 jobs and roughly $1 million in new equipment. "We pay the same amount we've been paying, and we phase in the increase," said company co-owner David.
The board also appointed James Patrick Karchel to the Board of Health, Jeffrey Ellis to the Conservation Commission and Chair Bob Bishop to the Dalton Cable Association board, and scheduled a February 23 hearing on a beer and wine license for the new Lipton Mart. Amid public comment from the Dalton Clean Air Coalition pressing for a more proactive town attorney in the Berkshire Concrete mining dispute, the board referred a $12,500-to-$15,000 mineral rights appraisal to the Finance Committee.
