Lanesborough Select Board names Maynard delegate for police and DPW union talks

LANESBOROUGH — January 29, 2026 — Lanesborough Select Board designates Chair Deb Maynard as union negotiating delegate as police and DPW contracts near expiration. The two-member quorum — members Michael Murphy and Jason Brio, with Maynard absent — voted 2-0 at the January 29 meeting to seat Maynard as the Select Board's representative in upcoming three-year contract talks with both the police and Department of Public Works unions, whose current agreements expire at fiscal year's end. A second 2-0 vote authorized the Finance Committee to optionally name its own delegate to the broader negotiating team, a move Town Administrator Gina Jurkowski described as providing broader town-wide representation in the process. The board also approved working with the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission under the 2026 District Local Technical Assistance program to address zoning inconsistencies around the lake and improve the town's permitting process, approved four one-day liquor licenses for The Venue at Skyline covering events in early February, and cleared $342,879.39 in financial warrants.
