Sheffield Select Board Approves Microtransit Letter Ahead of June 30 IMA Deadline

LENOX — May 18, 2026 — Sheffield Select Board re-elects Lee Boudala as chair and approves a $50 Board of Health late fee in a busy post-election meeting. The board's most time-sensitive action was approving a draft letter initiating renewal talks for the inter-municipal agreement governing South County Connector, the seven-town regional microtransit service that Sheffield funds with a $25,000 annual appropriation; the IMA expires June 30. Town Administrator Renee warned that "if nobody gets this going, it's quite possible that sometime in June there will be no IMA." The board also accepted the license surrender of Black Sheep Brewing Company — doing business as Big Elm Brewing and Bump Brewery, which ceased operations April 21 — appointed Tom Taylor to the Board of Health and Anya Rozov to the Community Preservation Committee, ratified Town Moderator Julie Hannum's nomination of Nadine Hallmer to the Finance Committee, and approved Memorial Day parade permits for both the Ashley Falls Village Improvement Society and the Sheffield American Legion Post.
