Select Board · Meeting of October 26, 2026

DALTON — The Dalton Select Board, sitting as the Sewer Commission, voted to grant the fire district a two-year sewer fee waiver for a Flansburgh Avenue property being converted to firefighter housing. The board also approved a tax abatement for a 65 Beverly Street property owner who converted a two-family home to single-family use 13 years ago without filing the required permit, and appointed Officer Christopher P. Pryor and Officer Nicholas A. Feld as constables. A member questioned the sewer charge itself, saying "they're not charging us.

So we're going to charge them for sewer." Member Antonio Pagliarulo, addressing votes taken during his absence, asked the board to seek a sewer bill cost projection for residents and raised concerns about silica dust monitoring tied to a Department of Environmental Protection licensing decision for BCC's facility on Bridle Road. The board also directed its Public Safety Land Acquisition Committee to evaluate three private parcels for a combined police and fire facility, with federal ARPA funds needing to be spent by December.
