Becket Town Hall Warns of Limited Parking Tuesday

BECKET — Becket Town Hall has posted a notice warning residents of limited parking at Town Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 25, even as the Board of Assessors and the Cultural Council both convened Monday and the library's cookbook club met to discuss a book on Chinese home cooking.

Town Hall issued a News Flash notice alerting residents that parking will be limited at the building on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The town did not specify a cause or duration in the posted alert.

Two town bodies met Monday, Aug. 24, at Town Hall: the Board of Assessors at 10:30 a.m. and the Becket Cultural Council at 6 p.m. No outcomes from either meeting had been posted as of this report.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Becket Athenaeum's Cookbook Club met Monday from 12:42 to 1:42 p.m. to discuss "Every Grain of Rice" by Fuchsia Dunlop, continuing the library's monthly series pairing a cookbook discussion with recipes from the text.

The Becket Athenaeum hosts Movie Night for Adults on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The library's Free Weed Watchers Indoor Workshop follows Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m., alongside a Mah Jongg Meetup at the same time and a Bylaw Review Committee meeting at Town Hall at 3 p.m., followed by a Planning Board meeting at 5 p.m.

The Select Board holds a working meeting at Town Hall on Friday, Aug. 28, at 8:30 a.m. That evening, "The Other Dance Concert in Becket" runs from 7 to 8 p.m. The rain date for the Becket-Washington Community Yard Sale is set for Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
