Williamstown Drops CodeRED, Launches AlertWilliamstown Emergency Notification System

The town rolled out AlertWilliamstown on Friday, replacing the long-running CodeRED platform with a new Regroup-powered mass notification system that will serve as the official channel for emergency alerts and general community communications.

TOWN HALL

AlertWilliamstown is now the town's primary tool for reaching residents by phone, text, and email during emergencies and for routine community updates. The Regroup-powered system takes over all functions previously handled by CodeRED. Residents who had registered with CodeRED should check the town's website at williamstownma.gov to confirm they are enrolled in the new platform and will continue to receive alerts. The town posted the launch announcement Friday evening.

Also underway: the town's mandated Cyclical Inspection Program is sending Data Collectors to a selection of residential properties throughout June and July. The visits are routine assessments designed to update property record cards on file with the town. Residents whose homes are selected are asked to allow the Data Collector inside to verify the information. The program is not connected to enforcement; it is a standard records-maintenance exercise required under state assessment rules.
