Stockbridge Planning Board continues a cross-municipal-boundary Form A application to its August 4 meeting. Surveyor Mike Parsons of Kelly Granger and Parsons Surveyors, appearing for property owners Michael Lynch and Susan Baker, asked the board to endorse a plan splitting a one-acre lot straddling the Stockbridge-Lenox town line, arguing that a Lenox zoning bylaw provision — which treats cross-boundary lots as if they were wholly within Lenox — satisfies the 150-foot frontage and one-acre minimum required under Lenox rules. Board members pushed back, noting that the 174 feet of road frontage on Hawthorne Street lies within Stockbridge's R4 district, which requires 300 feet, and that "the town of Lenox can't dictate what these parameters are to the town of Stockbridge." Two errors in the application — a wrong street name and an outdated assessor's map reference — also require correction before the board can act.

Parsons said he expects Lenox Planning Board signatures on the plan before August 4; the board will consult town counsel in the interim.
