Stockbridge Assessors Approve Minutes, Launch FY27 Revaluation Work

Other Committee · Meeting of June 23, 2026

LENOX — Stockbridge Board of Assessors begins fiscal year 2027 revaluation cycle and reviews state equalized valuation. The board, meeting in hybrid format on June 23, heard from assessing staff that the Massachusetts Department of Revenue has proposed an equalized valuation of $1,587,444,900 for Stockbridge — modestly above the town's own fiscal year 2026 LA-4 total of $1,495,161,601 for real and personal property, with the gap narrowing to roughly $38 million when the town's approximately $186 million in exempt property is added in. Staff reported that all preparatory steps for the FY27 valuation cycle are complete, including locking prior-year values, reconciling chapter land classifications, and updating parcel maps in the Vision assessing system; a sales analysis drawing on calendar year 2025 data is expected to be finished by the end of July.

The board confirmed July 7 and July 21 as its next meeting dates and then voted unanimously to enter executive session to review 3ABC tax-exemption forms for six organizations: Berkshire Theater Group, Laurel Hill Association, The Nature Conservancy, Riverbrook Residence Incorporated, Stockbridge Land Trust, and the Trustees of Reservations.
