Margaret Lindley Park Swimming Area Remains Closed Over Bacterial Concerns
With Margaret Lindley Park's swimming area still closed due to elevated bacterial levels and a new free outdoor fitness program launching this week, Williamstown residents have a mix of health and recreation news to start Sunday.
TOWN HALL
The swimming area at Margaret Lindley Park remains closed as of this weekend following a high bacterial count detected on Wednesday, June 24. The town has not set a reopening date; the closure stands until water quality improves.
On a more active note, the town's outdoor Fitness Court on will host free community workout classes every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. through the end of July. The classes are open to all residents and require no registration.
The Town Clerk's office is operating on reduced hours this week — open only 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Monday (June 25, 26, and 29). Residents needing in-person clerk services should plan accordingly.
Artists have until Sunday, July 6, to submit work for the Eyes on Art Town project, which places local artwork on streetlight banners along Spring and Latham Streets each fall. The Town of Williamstown is a partner in the initiative through the Williamstown Cultural District.
