Margaret Lindley Park Reopens After Bacterial Count Clears
The town has emerged from a stretch of holiday closures and a regional heat advisory, with attention now turning to a slate of summer meetings and the Agricultural Commission's Open Farm Day on July 12.

Town Hall was closed Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday, with the Transfer Station also closed Saturday, July 4, according to the town's News & Updates page. The closures came as Massachusetts had issued an "Unhealthy Heat Alert" running June 30 through July 5, prompting the town to publish heat wave safety guidance urging residents to check on vulnerable neighbors and stay hydrated during the stretch.
In more welcome news, Margaret Lindley Park has reopened after a bacterial-count closure. The town reported that testing as of June 29 showed water quality back to normal following the closure that began Wednesday, June 24, and the park will remain open going forward pending continued monitoring.
The town also announced free outdoor Fitness Court classes every Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. through July, and noted that a Community Development Director appearance at the town's Citizens Academy took place in late June alongside a similar presentation from the Town Clerk.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Agricultural Commission's Open Farm Day is set for Sunday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving residents a chance to visit local farms, shop for vegetables, meats, eggs, and syrups, walk farm trails, and join guided tours.
The Williamstown Cultural District is also accepting artist submissions through July 6 for "Eyes on Art Town," the annual project that displays local artwork on streetlight banners along Spring and Latham Streets each fall.
At the Milne Public Library, the Osteo Bone Building class was cancelled on July 6 but was expected to resume Thursday, per a library social media post. The library also teased upcoming programming "next week" without additional detail in its latest post.

The Milne Public Library Board of Trustees meets Wednesday, July 8, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 1095 Main St. The Conservation Commission holds a hybrid meeting Thursday, July 9, at 7 p.m., streamed on willinet.org and Spectrum TV Channel 1303. Open Farm Day runs Sunday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at participating local farms. The Select Board meets Monday, July 13, at 7 p.m. in a hybrid session at 31 North Street. A Well #2 meeting with Dave Caron is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a Planning Board meeting that evening at 7 p.m.
