WILLIAMSTOWN -- Margaret Lindley Park reopened on June 29 after bacterial counts in the park's pond returned to safe levels, the town announced. The pond is open for swimming from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is staffed by a ranger during the summer season. The park — operated by the Williamstown Conservation Commission — is available for hiking year-round, dawn to dusk. Dogs are not permitted.
