Becket Road Work Begins on County, Yokum Pond, and Tyne Routes
DATELINE — BECKET
A summer Wednesday in Becket brings an ongoing road-work project to residents' attention and a pair of community programs to fill the evening hours.
TOWN HALL
Road work is underway on County, Yokum Pond, and Tyne Roads — from Route 8 to the Becket-Lee town line — including the Yokum Pond Road bridge project. The town's website notes work has begun but offers no completion timeline; drivers using those routes should expect disruption and plan accordingly.
On the meeting calendar for today, the Historical Commission convenes at 9 a.m. and the Planning Board meets at 5 p.m.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Becket Athenaeum's LGBTQ+ Pride Art Exhibit continues today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free and open to the public. Tonight, the library hosts a Writing Workshop — "Writing Better Fiction, Memoir and Non-Fiction" — from 6 to 8 p.m. The workshop is a concrete opportunity for residents working on creative projects to get structured feedback heading into the summer.
Morning yoga at Becket Town Hall runs at 9 a.m. as part of its regular Tuesday-Wednesday schedule.
