Becket Recruits Volunteers for New Transfer Station Swap Shop
BECKET — Becket officials are recruiting volunteers to staff a new swap shop opening this summer at the Transfer Station, while the Becket Athenaeum opened its cookbook club season Monday evening with a discussion of America's Test Kitchen's "The Complete Salad Cookbook."
TOWN HALL The town is calling for volunteers to help run a new Swap Shop at the Transfer Station, set to open later this summer. The reuse program would let residents drop off and take usable household goods during regular Transfer Station hours; the town has not yet announced a firm opening date or the number of volunteer shifts needed.
COMMUNITY & ARTS The Becket Athenaeum's Cookbook Club met Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. to discuss "The Complete Salad Cookbook" by America's Test Kitchen, the group's latest monthly pick.
COMING UP The Athenaeum's Baby & Toddler Group returns Tuesday, July 14, from 10 to 11 a.m., alongside a free Osteo/Chair Yoga class for seniors at 10:30 a.m. On Wednesday, July 15, the library hosts Plein Air in Becket from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and an evening W.I.P. Wednesday session for musicians from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Creative Modern Dance with Louise meets Friday, July 17, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The following Saturday, July 18, brings a Library Storytime with Stay & Play from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a talk on "Murals and Community" with artist Ramiro Davaro-Comas of Super Stories from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
