Adams Select Board reorganizes, names Mezwire chair and Bartlett vice chair
ADAMS — May 6, 2026 — Adams Select Board reorganizes under new chair Jay Mezwire, absorbs surprise member resignation. The board unanimously elected Mezwire as chair and Anne Bartlett as vice chair at its May 6 meeting, the first session to include newly elected member Kelly Rice, who replaced nine-year board veteran Christine Hoy. Town Clerk Haley Mazwire informed the board during public comment that member John Duval had resigned earlier that same morning, with a process for filling the vacancy expected on the May 20 agenda. The board ratified four hires — including a backup Council on Aging van driver at $18.83 per hour and three seasonal DPW laborers at $18 per hour — approved three one-day wine and malt licenses, and set a June 3 public hearing on a National Grid pole petition. Members also heard that a $94,125 state-funded engineering study of the privately held Fisk Street Dam is nearing completion ahead of a grant-expiration deadline, and took a first step toward relaunching the Greylock Glen campground RFP process, shelved since a developer withdrew in 2022.
