Becket begins road and bridge work on three town roads

BECKET — Crews have begun work on County, Yokum Pond and Tyne roads between Route 8 and the Becket/Lee line, including a bridge project on Yokum Pond Road, the town announced this week.

TOWN HALL

The road and bridge work covers a stretch of County Road, Yokum Pond Road and Tyne Road running from Route 8 to the Becket/Lee town line, and includes reconstruction of the Yokum Pond Road bridge, according to a town announcement. No completion timeline was included in the notice.

Separately, the town is seeking volunteers to help staff a new Swap Shop set to open this summer at the Transfer Station, where residents will be able to drop off and take reusable items. The town's call for volunteers did not specify a firm opening date or how residents can sign up beyond contacting Town Hall.
